“Thank You” By Educatable

Educatable

Some artists evolve through ambition. Others are shaped by necessity. For Educatable, the solo project of Chesterfield multi-instrumentalist Ricky Barson, transformation came through heartbreak and the decision to keep going anyway.

“Thank You” is the latest release from a project that’s been through more lives than most. What started in 2002 as a school friend trio called 24/7, with Barson behind the drums, has worn different names and seen different faces. The Remedies, then Educatables. Three members became five, then settled into a duo. That two piece lineup, built around the partnership between Barson and lead singer Dom Slone, became something special. They played hundreds of shows to thousands of people, earned BBC radio coverage, and took stages in football stadiums.

Most artists would have ended there. Barson chose differently. He picked up the guitar, stepped up to the microphone, and turned Educatable into something new while keeping faith with everything it had been. “Thank You” is part of that journey, fresh material that honors the melodic, feelgood energy the band always had while exploring new ground.
