South London outfit The Here And Now are back with “Riptide”, a new single that hits streaming platforms this Friday, 28th November. If you’ve been following this lot since they started making noise around the capital in 2020, you’ll know they don’t do things by halves.
The track wastes no time getting stuck in. Right from the jump, Jason Bond’s guitar work comes at you with serious intent, while Cherry Terzza’s vocals deliver the kind of performance that demands your attention. There’s a rawness to it that feels honest, shifting between moments of real fragility and outright force.
Lyrically, “Riptide” tackles that classic problem we’ve all faced: being pulled towards something (or someone) you know isn’t good for you. The title says it all, really. Just like getting caught in an actual riptide, you don’t always see it coming until you’re already under. The band plays with that tension throughout the song, capturing that destructive cycle of want.
The rhythm section does serious work here too. Rich Sackey-Addo keeps things driving forward on drums, while Callum Lowe’s bass provides the foundation everything else sits on. Together, the four piece create something that feels both heavy and hooky.
For those keeping track, you might catch echoes of bands like Paramore, Queens Of The Stone Age, or Royal Blood in their sound, but The Here And Now have carved out their own space. They’ve spent the past few years building a reputation across London venues for live shows that actually connect with people, and that energy translates on record.
“Riptide” lands everywhere on 28th November 2025. Worth your time if you’re into rock music that actually rocks.
