Indie rock outfit Von Venn, fronted by Dublin-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gary Cox, are set to unveil their brand new single “You Can Talk To Me” on June 27th, 2025. The release marks the first glimpse into the band’s forthcoming full-length album, Forgetting the Fall.

The new track arrives on the heels of the band’s critically acclaimed 2023 album, Jeanie Is Out, which drew praise for standout singles like “Ghost” and “Constant Girl.” With Forgetting the Fall, Von Venn delve deeper into the emotional complexities of life, tracing a journey from innocence and confusion to clarity and redemption.

Written throughout 2024 and recorded at Soundcaster Studios in Dublin, the new album continues to showcase Von Venn’s rich melodic sensibilities, layered harmonies, and evocative storytelling.

The lead single, “You Can Talk To Me,” sets the tone with its hypnotic guitar riffs, driving bassline, and urgent rhythm section. At its heart is a haunting nocturnal dialogue between two individuals caught in a web of self-deception and emotional ambiguity. The repeated refrain, “we’re just killing time,” mirrors the song’s theme of denial and avoidance, while the title line — “you can talk to me” — doubles as both a reassurance and a quiet provocation.

Von Venn is the creative brainchild of Gary Cox, who writes and performs much of the band’s music, handling vocals, guitars, bass, and synths. He’s joined by Terry Doyle on keyboards, synths, and backing vocals, Ciara Henry on vocals, and Mark Wogan on drums. Together, they deliver a sound that draws influence from indie and alternative legends while carving out a fresh and distinctive voice of their own.

“You Can Talk To Me” will be available on all major streaming platforms from June 27th. With the album on the horizon, Von Venn are poised to make another compelling mark on the indie music scene.
